Dear colleagues,

Dario Brentin, Armina Galijas, and Hrvoje Paic act as guest editors for the current thematic issue on “Football and Society” and have provided for a fascinating reading of (post-)Yugoslav football stories (with Brasilian echoes still on our minds). Beyond this, the current issue features “Perspectives on the Ukrainian Crisis” from Kosovo, Turkey, Moldova, and Macedonia, illustrating the extents to which Southeast European societies are affected by the events in neighbouring Ukraine.

“Südosteuropa” changed its editorship: From the current issue onwards, Ger Duijzings (Regensburg), Wim van Meurs (Nijmegen), and Sabine Rutar (editor-in-chief, Regensburg) act as editors. The Editorial Board has been considerably expanded to better reflect the journal’s multidisciplinary social sciences profile. Also, the journal is now published in English language only.

The journal can be purchased in all bookstores or directly at the publishing house De Gruyter Oldenbourg.
