"Contemporanea" is a peer-reviewed historical journal and promotes communication between scholars of different generations, comparison with international historiography and dialogue between professional historians and lovers of history, teachers and students.
"Contemporanea" publishes the results of original and innovative studies produced by Italian and international scholars about the political, social, and cultural aspects of Italian, European and Extra European history in the 19. and 20. centuries. It provides insight into the most significant themes and trends dealt with at the international level, tackling the most important historical issues in the form of a "written" debate between qualified Italian and international scholars and through the dialogue between history and the other social sciences. In addition, every issue of "Contemporanea" contains a critical presentation of documents by protagonists of our history, as well as discussing and group reviewing of classic works of historiography and of the most recent scholarship.
