The 1st International Young Researchers' Conference on the History and Culture of Bukovina will take place from 21.11.2023 to 23.11.2023.
Researchers from Germany and abroad with an interest in Bukovina and its cultures, nationalities and religions are cordially invited to present their current projects (e.g. master's theses, dissertations, post-doctoral theses).
The organizing institution is the Bukovina Institute and the Chair for the History of Germany and Eastern Europe at the University of Augsburg. The Bukovina Institute particularly promotes multiple-perspective approaches that take a joint look at the history of Ukrainians, Romanians, Germans, Jews, Poles and Armenians.
Contributions from History, German Studies, Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies as well as from European Ethnology, Sociology, Economics, Law and Geography are welcome.
The presentations will last 15 minutes, will be circulated beforehand and then discussed together. The conference language is German and English.
Travel and accommodation costs can be reimbursed on request.
Please send a project outline of 1-2 pages and a short cv to Ms Christina Eiden (only by email: eiden[at]bukowina-institut.de) by 15.09.2023 at the latest.
We look forward to a lively participation!
