Journal for Research into Freemasonry and Fraternalism aims to promote academic research into freemasonry and related fraternal orders and organizations, highlighting their significance for social, cultural and conceptual history over time. The establishment of an academic journal in the area reflects the development of the last three decades, a steadily growing academic research community in Europe and the Americas in combination with new access to neglected or previously inaccessible source material. It is our ambition to represent a joint platform for and crossfertilizer between various research traditions. Hence we will allow at least one French submission per volume, recognizing the achievements of francophone scholars. We especially encourage submissions from young researchers and welcome sound contributions to our debate section. Our review section envisages to introduce and to evaluate the most recent publications in the area. We intend to publish two volumes per year, one themed and one open. You are most welcome to contact the editor or any member of the editorial board.
