The Documenta Pragensia were founded in 1980. They are published by the Prague City Archives. This proceedings focuses in a wider range on comparative urban history of the Middle-European area and is published once a year. Almost each of the volumes is dedicated to a topic corresponding with the annual international conference held by the Prague City Archives and related scientific institutions from the Czech Republic and abroad. The studies have thus origins in the conference contributions. These volumes are accompanied by other issues from the edition series Documenta Pragensia Varia that brings various essays on urban history.
The contributions are published in Czech, Slovak, Polish, German and in English and are equipped with a compendious summary in a world language.
