After three successful conferences in London, Prague and Salisbury, the meeting of the International Bridges Group in 2018 will be taking place in Regensburg (24–26 August). The partners of this year’s conference are the Chair of European History at Regensburg University, the Chair of Medieval History at the Technische Universität Darmstadt and the Research Training Group KRITIS at the Technische Universität Darmstadt.
The conference will bring together historians, art historians and archeologists. The goal is to discuss new ideas on medieval bridges and cities in which these bridges are located.
One focus of the meeting will be English medieval bridges, followed by bridges of Central Europe and the Byzantine region.

The weekend programme will include a guided tour of the city and the cathedral of Regensburg, and a close study of the stone bridge, its existing and non-existing towers, and the hospital close to it.
The conference fee for all delegates will be 60 Euros (including admission fees and catering on Saturday).

If you are interested in participating in the conference please send an e-mail to schilz@pg-tu-darmstadt.de until 10th of August 2018.
