The 16th annual symposium of the Parish Network will take place at the University of Warwick on Saturday 12 May 2018 between 10.30 and 18.00. It explores developments and historiographical trends linking parishes and migration from different perspectives. This includes classic demographic approaches as well as new insights inspired by cultural and global history. We are delighted that Richard M. Smith will deliver our keynote address.
Organized in conjunction with the Marie Skłodowska-Curie project Migration in the Early Modern World’, the Symposium invites 1-page abstracts from postgraduates, early career researchers and faculty staff whose research intersects with these themes. Contributions on non-European, Continental European and British/Irish parishes are equally welcome. We can offer speakers free registration, lunch/refreshments and budget travel within England.
Please send proposals for 15-minute papers together with a short biographical note to b.kumin@warwick.ac.uk and f.tramontana@warwick.ac.uk by 20 February 2018.
For further information contact Beat Kümin (Department of History) or Felicita Tramontana (Centre for the Study of the Renaissance) and/or visit our symposium homepage.
