The following themes (among others) will be discussed:
1. Historical background of the new trends in socio-cultural changes in Korean and Russian societies;
2. Problems of democratization and civil society formation in Korean and Russian societies;
3. New trends in economic globalization in Korean and Russian societies;
4. Social stratification and inequality trends in Korean and Russian societies;
5. Transformation of the cultural practices in Korean and Russian societies under globalization;
6. Migration as a factor of social and cultural changes in the Korean and Russian companies.
Objectives of the conference:
- Discussion of the theory, history and practices of social and cultural changes in Korean and Russian societies;
- Analysis of the current state and prospects of social and cultural interactions between Korea and Russia;
- Discussion of the results of Korean studies in Russia and Russian studies in Korea, including the post-Soviet society;
- Exchange of proposals on the development of partnerships in research, teaching methods and expert activities in the field of Russian-Korean academic cooperation.
Conference Venue: Faculty of Sociology, Saint- Petersburg State University, St. Petersburg,
Russia, ul. Smolnogo, 1/3.
Working languages: English and Russian.
Deadlines for submissions:
Application forms and abstracts (200 words) will be accepted until February 15, 2015.
Full papers (about 3000 words) should be submitted until March 1, 2015. Selected papers will be published in collection of conference papers.
Notification of acceptance will be sent until March 10, 2015.
