The journal Dapim – Studies on the Holocaust invites submissions for its 2014 international essay competition on all areas of Holocaust Studies. Possible topics include Nazi policies against the Jews, racism, Jewish responses to persecution, survivor testimony, Nazi propaganda, Ghettos and camps, war crimes trials, commemoration, memory, and museology, WWII and its aftermath, Holocaust literature, drama, and film, etc.
The prize of $ 600 (U.S. dollars) will be awarded to the best article as selected by a panel of judges and will be published in the journal Dapim. All entries will also be regarded as submissions for publication in the journal.
The competition is open to graduate students as well as established scholars from all disciplines working on the history of the Holocaust. We welcome submissions of 6000-9000 words (including footnotes) written in English and formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style. All approaches and methodologies are welcome.
Submissions should be headed “Dapim 2014 essay competition” with the author’s name and address given in a cover letter (but not in the essay itself) and sent in electronic format.
