The analysis of transnational relations has been a promising and increasingly prominent field of study that examines interconnections between societies. The workshop examines one specific aspect of transnational relations by looking at how professionals have transcended national boundaries. It goes beyond merely studying transnational links and seeks to explore how such connections shaped the understanding, self-images and practices of professions and professionalism more generally. In doing so, the workshop also seeks to contribute to a conceptualization of transnational professional relations and professionalism. The workshop brings together academics whose expertise focuses on a variety of professionals including missionaries, museum directors, film makers, literary critics, social workers, scientists, medical doctors.

If you are interested in attending the workshop, please register with the organisers as places are limited.
