The International Intelligence History Association (IIHA) will be conducting its 17th annual conference in Marburg, Germany, on 17-19 June 2011. The conference is organized jointly with the Bundeswehr Office of Military History, Potsdam, Germany (MGFA). The title of the conference is "German intelligence history from Bismarck to the present".

The theme of our conference will be the history of German intelligence in a wider international, institutional and political context. The international context is particularly needed to explain how intelligence was used before and during the two World Wars but also during and since the Cold War.

This year’s conference will also host a Junior Researcher Meeting following the official part of the IIHA conference: A chance to meet, discuss and exchange information. Advanced students, Ph.D. students and postdocs researching and/or interested in intelligence history and intelligence studies are welcome to join in on Sunday, 19 June 2011, 15.00h-17.00h.
