The M.A. program in Holocaust Studies/Tolerance Studies is the only degree in Germany that focuses on the history and teaching of the Holocaust. Its aim is to provide graduate students with a specialization in Holocaust Studies that comes with a deeper knowledge and understanding of the history, literature, thought, and educational processes of the Jewish people over the past millennium. We now want to serve new prospective students not only personally, but also virtually.

Communication and scholarship: These are the components from which academic research benefits just as, for example, museums, memorial sites or other actors of remembrance and memorial politics. With our program, we are responding to a wide range of requests from European and international circles.

Until 2022, our MA in Holocaust Studies and Tolerance Studies served as a blueprint for Holocaust studies at German universities. After more than 15 years of success, we are internationalizing our program.

As the only degree program in Germany that focuses on the history and teaching of the Holocaust, it now will serve prospective students not only personally, but also virtually.

The program is taught in English: You will receive s a US-Degree unique in the European Union. Touro University is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), an agency recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

We remain affordable. Our experience has shown that quality in teaching and research does not have to be expensive. We are competitive with the financial rates of European public universities. We are thus also opening to new circles of students and new countries, for whom research, memory and prevention is a commitment.

We remain in Berlin. As a Branch Campus of Touro University Systems New York, which is fully accredited in the US, we have had good experiences in the German capital. Our degree programs are networked, and we cooperate with numerous academic, business, and cultural partners. Our campus once belonged to a Jewish family that was able to emigrate. Berlin was the center of German Jewry, the escape point for many Jews from Eastern Europe until 1933, but Berlin was also the headquarters of tyranny. Persecution, war, and the Holocaust started from Berlin. There is no better place to serve as a base of teaching, and if you are interested in campus experience on site, we will assist. Students will also have the opportunity to attend classes with our cooperation partner at the Free University Berlin – Institute for Jewish Studies.
