Call for Papers:

Peace History Society to Sponsor Conference:
"Politics of Peace Movements: From Nonviolence to Social Justice"
to be held 28-30 April 2000 at Western Washington University, in Bellingham, Washington.

The program committee of the second international conference sponsored by the Peace History Society requests proposals that examine the politics of peace movements around the world and in every time period. We especially seek proposals that explore the "politics" of race, gender, class, religion, and geography within movements for social justice as well as the connections between those movements and other political structures.

We encourage proposals from scholars outside the United States.

Proposals for individual papers or complete panels are welcome. Sessions should feature 2-3 papers and a moderator. All proposals for individual papers or complete panels should include the following:

1) A summary of prospective papers, no longer than 250 words.

2) Names and addresses of each participant, accompanied by a brief biographical sketch or vita.
