"Shifting Lines, Entangled Borderlands. Mobilities and Migration along the Prussian Eastern Railroad" (Indiana University Press, 2024) examines the history of the Eastern Railroad (Ostbahn) between the 1830s and the 1930s. The study traces multiple mobilities, entangled borderlands, microhistory and space, and human and nonhuman actors to investigate how an inner-Prussian railroad line turned into a transnational force, overcoming borders and connecting Europeans in a time of rising nationalism.
