Our workshop aims to encourage new research and foster exchange between scholars and experts interested in movie-going, cinemas and film programming and distribution.

Cinema audiences and film programming at the Northern periphery, 1930–1950s. Sources, methods, and tools

The workshop "Cinema audiences and film programming at the Northern periphery" discusses audience tastes and film programming strategies in Northern Europe before, during and after WWII.
This year's focus is on sources, tools and (digital) methods. The workshop includes a hands-on seminar during which we analyse pre-collected film programming data from various Scandinavian towns under the guidance of Tunnis van Oort.

If you are interested in participating as a visitor or want to know more about the project, please contact the organiser: maria.fritsche@ntnu.no.
