has two vacant positions for a Student research assistant
Starting date: 1 January 2020 or later
1st Position (20 hours per month)
Support of the research project “Feeling the Way through with Sound: Social Warmth, Critical Feeling, and Affective Trance in North African Popular Islamic Rituals” of Dr Tamara Turner
Responsibilities:
- Bibliographical research mostly in English and French primary and secondary sources
- Independent excerption of primary and secondary sources
- Sourcing of literature
Requirements:
- Enrolment as a student (PhD students are NOT eligible) in a Berlin or Brandenburg (county) university
- At least two study semesters in history or related field of study
- Knowledge of English and French essential (good reading skills)
- Knowledge of Arabic desired
- High personal motivation, ability to work independently and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines and to work without direct supervision
2nd Position (20 hours per month)
support of the research project “Love and Labour in the City: Romantic Love and Delhi’s Workers, c. 1950s to the present” of Dr Rukmini Barua
Responsibilities:
- Bibliographical research in English and Hindi primary and secondary sources
- Independent excerption of primary and secondary sources
- Sourcing of literature
Requirements:
- Enrolment as a student (PhD students are NOT eligible) in a German university
- At least two study semesters in humanities or social sciences
- Knowledge of English and Hindi essential (good reading skills)
- High personal motivation, ability to work independently and attention to detail; ability to meet deadlines and to work without direct supervision
