Call for papers

Grad Student Conference in German Studies

April 26-28, 2001

Goethe-Institut, Chicago, Illinois

The Midwest Graduate Seminar in German Studies (MGSGS) is pleased to announce its eighth annual conference for graduate students working on subjects relating to Germany and Central Europe. The conference has traditionally been run by graduate students, for graduate students. Papers are welcome on any subject; we encourage interdisciplinary and comparative approaches. The coordinating committee will arrange papers into round table discussion panels, focusing on specific issues or themes.

Seminar papers, MA theses, dissertation proposals, and chapters are welcome! Papers should not exceed 10 double-spaced pages or 20 minutes. The Seminar will be hosted by the Goethe-Institut, Chicago. Graduate students in the Chicago area will provide housing for out-of-town participants. Please send a 250-word abstract by FEBRUARY 15, 2001. Email submissions welcome. By the end of March, we will need your completed paper.
