Call For Papers

The Cold War Area of the Popular Culture Association invites the submission of papers to be presented at the Annual Conference of the Popular Culture Association in San Diego from March 31-April 3, 1999.

We are interested in papers which deal with the influence of the Cold War on all aspects of American popular culture. In recent years, panelists have examines the ways in which Cold War ideologies were evident in popular genres, in advertising, in domestic life, in specific films and novels, and in the world of politics and public life. Papers which approach Cold War issues from fresh critical and cultural perspectives are particularly welcome. If you have any further questions, please contact Phil Landon at the address below.
