2nd interdisciplinary, international (post)graduate conference at Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen/Nürnberg Erlangen (Bavaria, Germany)

The Departments of English and Sociology invite young scholars to participate in the second interdisciplinary, international (post)graduate conference at Erlangen University (Germany).
Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
postmodern and poststructuralist theories
literature, culture, and difference
Cultural Studies
postmodern stories and histories
Feminism
gender- and transgender issues
minorities
hybridity and globalization
mass media between language and power
social inequality and symbolic violence
Marxism and postmodernity
Conference languages are English and German.
Selected papers will be published in the conference proceedings.
Deadline for proposals:
1 October, 1999 (please include rtf-formatted (IBM) 150-word abstract with title of presentation; short CV; phone number, email and postal addresses). If possible, please use the registration form on our web page and/or email.
We plan to post all papers in advance on the conference web page in order to encourage exchange and discussion before the conference starts.
